ABOUT THE LIBRARY

THE LIBRARY HAS OPENED ITS DOORS!

What an exciting opening we had for our new library and community center on January 12-13, 2024! The Friends provided tours, and so many wonderful community groups shared their talents. It was truly the start of a new chapter. We invite you to stop by and explore all that the library has to offer!

There are seven Manatee Libraries funded in part by Manatee County. The library county budgets do not include funds for all programs, equipment, services and special collections.  Each library has a Friends organization that provides support for advocacy and fundraising. The Friends of the LWR Library fundraising efforts include the Book Nook, special events, donations, memberships and grants. These funds are critical to enhance what is already provided to meet the needs of  our community.
